RECREATIONAL
PILOT PERMIT
Age: The candidate shall be a minimum of 16 years of age.
Medical: A minimum of a valid Class IV medical is required.
Knowledge: The applicant should have 40 hours of ground school.
An applicant shall obtain a minimum of 60% in each of
the four mandatory subject areas:
1. Air Law
2. Navigation
3. Meteorology
4. Aeronautics as well as in the
overall written exam Pilot Permit Recreational Aeroplane (RPPAE)
Experience: The applicant shall have completed 25 flying
hours pilot flight training in aeroplanes under the direction and supervision
of the holder of a flight instructor rating-aeroplane. The flight training
shall include a minimum of 15 hours dual flight instruction time, including
a minimum of
two hours cross country time and 5 hours of Solo flight time. A flight
test shall be administered to determine the applicant meets the standards
as outlined in Flight Test Standards TP1 2475
Privileges: The Recreational Pilot Permit will allow the
Pilot to carry only one passenger in a single engine aeroplane of 4
seats or less. All flights shall be conducted during daylight hours
in VFR weather conditions and only in Canada.
